Opened in 1987 during a major real estate boom, Bayside Marketplace has been one of downtown Miami’s most popular tourist attractions. With shopping, dining and a variety of boat tours and party cruises available at Bayside’s marina; it is guaranteed to provide you with an entertaining day. The shopping center was often featured on the television show “Miami Vice” thanks to its picturesque location and unique layout and design. It is located on the banks of Biscayne Bay just north of Bayfront Park and south of the American Airlines Arena and the entrance to the Port of Miami. This immensely popular attraction averages around fifteen million visitors per year from all over the globe.
Visitors can spend their time browsing a vibrant marketplace with a wonderful mix of national brand name stores like Bath & Body Works and the Gap combined with a variety of unique local shops and kiosks. A must visit shop whenever at Bayside is the Art by God store on the first floor of the mall, it feels as if you have walked into a museums with all kinds of unique items like crystals, mineral specimens, gems, sea shells, fossils and so much more. Bayside also has a variety of exotic dining options at your fingertips; from gyros to Cuban sandwiches, guests can travel around the world during a visit to the food court by way of their palate. For those in the mood for a more traditional sit down dining experience, Bayside is also home to the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, Hard Rock Café, Hooters, Gloria Estefan’s Mambo Café as well as a plethora of other amazing restaurants. Every day at the marina stage, visitors can sit back and enjoy a variety of wonderful local live entertainment. Bayside Marketplace is open from Monday to Thursday from 10 am – 10pm, Friday & Saturday from 10 am – 11 pm and Sundays from 11 am – 9 pm. Many tours are available including sightseeing boat tours, helicopter tours, even bicycle and Segway tours and rentals are available. A great place to stop when you first arrive is the Bayside Tours and Information booth by the main entrance. These helpful Miami ambassadors can fill you in on everything there is to do at Bayside, along with other great local attractions within driving/cab distance like South Beach, Jungle Island or Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. There is plenty of parking available in Bayside’s parking garage as well as directly in front in between the north and south bound lanes of US 1.
